Thread Title: Clomid 100mg Tablets - Advice Needed!

Hello everyone,

I've been prescribed Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) 100 mg tablets for ovulation induction. I'm a bit confused about the dosage and how to purchase them safely online. Can anyone provide some advice or direct me towards reliable sources? Thanks in advance!

Hi ConfusedCindy,

Clomid is commonly prescribed for ovulation induction and fertility issues. The typical starting dose is usually 50 mg daily for five days at the beginning of your menstrual cycle (typically days 2-6). If you’re prescribed a higher dosage like 100 mg, it's likely to increase the chances of ovulation or if previous treatments didn’t work.

It’s crucial that Clomid be taken under medical supervision. Buying online can be risky because there are many counterfeit medications available, and quality control is often questionable.

I would recommend getting your prescription from a trusted local pharmacy or discussing with your healthcare provider about safe online pharmacies they recommend. Always ensure the website has valid accreditation such as being verified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).

Feel free to ask more questions if you need further clarification!

Thank you so much for your advice, DrSmartDoc! I’ll definitely discuss this with my doctor again and try to get a recommendation for a reliable online pharmacy.

Can you also give me any tips on what side effects I should watch out for? Just want to be fully prepared.

You're welcome, ConfusedCindy!

Clomid can cause several common side effects including:

  • Hot flashes
  • Breast tenderness
  • Headaches
  • Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) - this is less common but serious. Symptoms include severe abdominal pain, bloating, nausea and vomiting.
  • Mood swings

Less commonly, Clomid may also increase the risk of multiple pregnancies such as twins or higher-order multiples.

It’s important to report any concerning symptoms to your healthcare provider immediately. They can evaluate whether it’s necessary to adjust the dosage or switch treatments if needed.

Always follow up with your doctor regularly to monitor your response to the medication and ensure you’re progressing well.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
